Special Education Services

The Student Services Office is committed to meeting the diverse needs of students who are receiving special education services, including their academic, social, physical and management needs. Special education can be provided through individual or group instruction as well as through special services/programs specially designed for each student.

The goal of the Churchville-Chili Central School District is to provide the necessary supports and services within the Least Restrictive Environment possible (LRE).  Programs and services are recommended through the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE).  Parents, teachers, school psychologists, school counselors, administrators are all part of these Committees, which allows for strategic planning that will meet student’s individual needs.

Our programs and services are designed to:

  • To afford each student with the appropriate level of support necessary to meet standards set forth by New York State in the least restrictive environment possible
  • To provide each student with the special education programming and related services necessary to enable each student to meet their annual goals
  • To afford each classified student with the opportunity to participate to the greatest extent appropriate in all programs and activities offered by the district
  • To give each classified student genuine opportunities to develop skills necessary to meet post-secondary goals
