School Social Workers

The district employs five social workers throughout the district to support students and families.  School social workers are licensed mental health professionals with a master’s degree in social work who provide services related to a person’s social/emotional or mental health needs.

School social workers are the link between home, school and community.  They provide direct and indirect services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support student success.

School social workers provide crisis counseling, group and individual counseling and consultation.  They provide resources to families that connect them to outside agencies that may assist them with housing, mental health services, crisis services and other community supports.  They also provide parent counseling and training to help families understand how school interventions can be supportive for the home and community.
