The best things start with an idea
Students at CES launched a new school project that will benefit hundreds of local families in our community, thanks to a great idea from third-grader Grace Hasselberg. Grace herself took the stage to introduce classmates to the plan at the January Family Meeting Assembly. “I read about it in a book, and it looked like so much fun,” she said. “It seemed like something we could do to help.”
The project, called a Canstruction®, is based on the book “Canstruction Creations” by Carmen Morais. CES students plan to collect canned goods to build a mega-structure, a giant Valentine’s Day heart, in their cafeteria. Then, all the food will be donated to Foodlink.
Stay tuned for more details as the project gets under way! If you’d like to help, please contact the main office.
