The Churchville-Chili Central School District is committed to complying with New York State Education Department and Department of Health guidelines for supporting the health and safety of our school community. As you may be aware, the New York State Department of Health is requiring school districts to implement weekly student testing for COVID-19.
These guidelines require the weekly screening of a percentage of students with parental permission to monitor the spread of COVID-19. We will utilize the BinaxNOW COVID-19 testing kit, which takes approximately twenty minutes and includes an option of a self-administered lower nasal swab. A trained staff member will monitor and assist with the student testing and parents will be contacted with their child's results.
If you would like your child(ren) to be a part of the testing process, please complete this form by September 23. This would involve a process similar to last year, with a percentage of students being selected each week to monitor wellness. If you do not want your child to be a part of the testing, you do not need to complete the form.
If you have not already done so, the one-time health attestation for students must be completed and given to your child’s school nurse as soon as possible. For your convenience, it can also be done online by visiting this link. Every student is required to have the attestation on file for the 2021-22 school year.
We have added a Frequently Asked Questions page to our district website regarding vaccinations, testing, masking and other concerns related to COVID-19. If you have a question that isn’t addressed on this page, please email us at [email protected].
An update on positive COVID cases will be included in each Friday Newsbrief.
