Girls XC Brings Home the Brick! Strasser is Coach of the Year!

The team, the coaches and their award

Since 1978 when C-C Hall of Fame Coach Gary Boyce built the program, our girls XC team has grown into a competitive force, winning several division titles and sending many runners to state finals. Last year, we were seconds away from capturing our first Section V title, but finished second. This fall, the team accomplished what no other C-C girls cross country team had done in 43 years – we won the Section V Class A title! The team ran an amazing race, led by McKenna Arguien who finished third overall out of 87 runners and Alexa Briggs who finished seventh overall. Remaining team members all ran very strong races to help earn the title.

Girls Head Coach Richard Strasser, who has been our coach since 2007, also took home a major honor being named Section V Class A Coach of the Year. In his 15th year with the Saints, Strasser is our all-time leader for most wins as a girls cross country coach with 150. Congratulations to Coach Strasser and the team!
