Music
The Churchville-Chili Music Department has distinguished itself throughout the years as one of the finest music programs in Monroe County. Our ensembles regularly have students of all ages selected to participate in honors ensembles at local, state, national and international events.
Our commitment to provide the finest possible music education to our students is evidenced in the many outstanding performances and concerts given throughout the school year. Our high-caliber high school musical productions are largely anticipated events along with our annual Community Music Festival which features performances by most of our district ensembles.
The music education of our students begins with classroom music instruction in kindergarten and continues through grade 8. All students participate in chorus in grade 3 and, beginning in grade 4, may also elect to participate in band or orchestra. Students in grades 5-12 may choose to participate in extra-curricular jazz bands, show choirs, and/or music theatre productions. At the SHS, music course electives expand to include Piano, Guitar, Voice, Digital Music and two levels of IB Music (a SH honors music course), as well as AP Music Theory.
5-Unit Arts Sequence
Students may substitute a 5-unit sequence in the Arts for the 3-unit foreign language requirement to earn a Regents diploma-advanced designation. See your school counselor for more information. If you have questions or would like more information about the Fine Arts Department please contact Jeff Smith, Director of Fine Arts.

Our Music Boosters is a great way to become involved in the music program, and they are always looking for volunteers!
