Art
Art provides students with a unique opportunity to learn vital skills that will serve them intrinsically in any artistic setting and extrinsically throughout their lives. We believe that Art:
- offers powerful tools for expression, for making connections between intellect and emotion and communicating ideas.
- is an essential part of human history and provides a foundation for understanding the present as well as the future.
- allows a place for creative expression, a crucial attribute in today’s workplace.
- helps students build a quality work ethic that encourages them to strive for excellence in craftsmanship.
- promotes goal-setting and a realistic understanding of time constraints - important skills for the work place.
- requires advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills, adding to overall academic achievement and school success.
- builds self-confidence in a safe environment, and thereby improves overall performance in all disciplines.
- helps students appreciate differences in others and develop an understanding of the world around them through the lens of artistic expression.
