Swim Unit for 5/6 classes

Swim Unit for 5/6 classes

Dear Students and Families:

We are excited to let you know that our first group of students will begin swimming on Monday January 5, 2026. On the first day of each new swim unit, classes will “walkover” to the pool with the goal of familiarizing students with the area and expectations. The pool is located on the main campus at the Senior High School. Teachers will walk classes from the Middle School to the High School inside the building.

On the walkover days, we will review expectations that go along with quiet movement through the buildings to the SHS pool, as well as behavior in the locker rooms and safety around the pool area.

We will divide our swimming into four groups. Each group will receive 5- 6 days of instruction/activity in the pool.

WALKOVER (Childs and Eschberger PE classes)

Monday, January 5 and Tuesday, January 6 during PE classes.

Girls (#1 swim)

January 7-23 (no swim on 1/19/26)

  • learning safety and rescues
  • basic stroke mechanics
  • sports like water polo/basketball
  • kayaking

All students are expected to participate in the swim unit. However, no student will be asked to be in a part of the pool or do any activity that is beyond his or her ability level/comfort zone.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s PE teacher.

Sincerely - CCMS Physical Education Staff
