Sixth graders explore ways to mitigate the consequences of plastic

During their human impact unit, sixth grade students have learned about the need for the use of alternative materials, such as bioplastics, or plastics that are biodegradable, to lessen the negative impact we have on the environment.

Every student in sixth grade became a chemical engineer and made their own bioplastic using plant-based materials and compared the bioplastic properties. They are seeking solutions to better the future!
