CCCSD represented at the RRLC Library Legislative Event
C-C High School Library Media Specialist Sarah Wergin attended the RRLC Library Legislative Event 2024 at Henrietta Library on Friday, November 15.
Mrs. Wergin was invited to speak at the event as the School Library of the Year winner.
During her speech, Mrs. Wergin thanked the school community for their support of the library and RRLC for their recognition.
"Providing services and resources that spark joy, happiness, and excitement beyond the resources they need – that is a crowning achievement," said Mrs. Wergin. "These achievements are unsustainable without community and government support, trained professional librarians, and adequate budgets."
She shared a personal story of how she discovered her passion of being a librarian, of being able to connect with students and help guide them as they become adults.
The RRLC Library Legislative Event brought together librarians and legislators to discuss issues impacting libraries and recognize the Library All Star and Library of the Year winners.
