Embracing differences and inclusivity at FRS

Students at Fairbanks Road engaged in inclusivity lessons this fall, with a focus on our differences and how they make us special. Students learned that we are all different and need different things to keep us happy and comfortable. They also discussed their own strengths and the things that might be difficult for them. The lesson tied in the zones of regulation and how it is okay to have feelings, but that it is important to work with adults and peers to find a way back to the “green zone.” The goal of the lessons was to continue to develop empathy, kindness, and understanding of differences in all of our students and make sure all students feel safe.
