Two Coordinators of Special Education appointed

The Churchville-Chili Central School District would like to announce the selection of a High School Coordinator of Special Education and an Elementary Coordinator of Special Education. Melinda Pier was appointed as High School Coordinator of Special Education and Hannah McCann was appointed as Elementary Coordinator of Special Education at the June 23 Board of Education meeting.

Melinda is currently a Special Education Teacher in the Churchville-Chili Central School District, where she has worked for 20 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English/Elementary and Special Education at Nazareth University, her Masters in Literacy at Nazareth University and her School District and Building Leadership Certification at the University of Rochester. This is her twenty-third year in the field of education.  

Melinda says she is very excited to begin this new position and she looks forward to being able to support students and staff in a different light. 

Melinda will begin in the Student Services Office on July 1.

Hannah is currently the Associate Director of Special Education in the Rochester City School District, where she has worked since 2018 as a traveling 1-1 teacher, an assessment coordinator and a teacher coordinator of special education. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education at SUNY Geneseo, her Masters in Education at Nazareth College and her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership at SUNY Brockport.  

Hannah says she looks forward to working with students, staff, families, and the greater Churchville-Chili community.  

Hannah will begin in the Student Services Office on July 20. 

During the June 23 Board meeting, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Giulio Bosco also shared his intent to retire in March. We are thankful for his leadership and the positive difference he has made for our students, staff, and families.
