Districtwide Early Dismissal Drill scheduled for May 23
Districtwide Early Dismissal Drill scheduled for May 23
As part of the Churchville-Chili Central School District’s Safety Plan and in compliance with the mandate from the New York State Department of Education, the Churchville-Chili CSD will be holding the annual Emergency Early Dismissal Drill on Friday, May 23, 2025. Students will be released 15 minutes earlier than their normally scheduled times. After school activities will remain as scheduled.
Please expect your children to arrive home early on this date. The purpose of the early dismissal drill is to test the effectiveness of our transportation system, in the event we need to respond to an emergency.
Dismissal Times for the Emergency Early Release Drill on May 23, 2025:
- The high school will dismiss at 1:35 p.m.
- The middle school will dismiss at 2:25 p.m.
- The elementary schools will dismiss at 3:10 p.m.
This will NOT impact the UPK classes. They will dismiss as usual at 2 p.m.
Please make appropriate arrangements for the early dismissal of your children as a result of this drill. Also, as part of this drill, the District will be sending automated phone calls on May 16 to inform each student’s emergency contacts about the early dismissal drill. It is very important for everyone to be prepared in the event an emergency dismissal is necessary. While this drill is mandated by law, we recognize that many families are transporting their children to and from school. Although we encourage your student to participate in the drill, if you must pick up your child, please do so at least 15 minutes prior to that day’s dismissal time and let the school main office know in advance.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s school. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
