Chestnut Ridge Teacher Honored by Rochester Red Wings

Chestnut Ridge Elementary School second-grade teacher Jodi Piontkowski was recognized as an Outstanding Teacher Honoree during the Rochester Red Wings game on Saturday.

Piontkowski was one of five local educators selected by the Rochester Red Wings and Visions Federal Credit Union for the Outstanding Teacher Recognition program, which honors educators for their lasting contributions to students, families and school communities.

The recognition is based on nominations submitted by community members who share stories about the educators who have made a meaningful impact in their lives. Piontkowski's nomination highlighted the way she helped bring families together during the COVID-19 pandemic through virtual bingo nights and bedtime stories, creating connections that families still remember today.

As a second-grade teacher at Chestnut Ridge, Piontkowski is known for her commitment to helping students grow academically, socially and emotionally while creating meaningful connections with families.

The district congratulates Jodi on this special honor and thanks her for the positive difference she makes in the lives of Churchville-Chili students every day.
