CCCSD appoints Assistant Superintendent for Instruction

The Churchville-Chili Central School District would like to announce the selection of the new Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, John Gonzalez, Jr. Mr. Gonzalez was appointed during the August 11 Board of Education meeting. John will be transitioning to this new role in advance of Giulio Bosco’s retirement in March. Mr. Bosco has served the role of Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for the past 12 years.

John has spent the last year as the Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Development in Churchville-Chili CSD. Prior to joining our district, he served as a special education teacher, instructional coach, director of expanded learning, principal, senior leader in Buffalo Public Schools, and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction in the Geneva City School District.

John is a graduate of Buffalo State College, earning his certification in childhood and special education; SUNY Brockport; and the University of Rochester, where he received his certification in school building and district-level leadership.

“I am deeply honored to serve Churchville-Chili in this new role,” said Gonzalez. “As both a district leader and parent, I am personally invested in the success of our students, staff, and community. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation established by Mr. Bosco and working collaboratively with our educators and families to provide every student with engaging, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning experiences.”

“John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position,” said Superintendent Carmine Peluso. “His prior leadership experience in Churchville-Chili and other districts has prepared him well for this role. John has a proven track record of improving instruction, supporting educators, and increasing student achievement. We are confident he has the vision and skill set necessary to continue advancing learning opportunities and outcomes for all students in Churchville-Chili.”

John has been a resident of Chili for the past nine years. He is a proud parent of both a graduate and a current high school student in the district.
