C-C Music Teachers Present at Statewide Conference

Three Churchville-Chili music educators were selected to present at the New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) annual state conference this past weekend at the Convention Center. Their sessions highlighted strong instructional practice, creativity, and research that supports student learning in music classrooms across New York State.

Terrence Bacon presents to educators

Terry Bacon presented two sessions this year. His first, “Using PMMA and IMMA to Guide Instruction,” shared findings from his PhD research on using music aptitude assessments to better understand the musical potential of elementary-aged students. His second session, “Composing in Ensembles Using Technology,” guided educators through step-by-step instructional sequences for helping students improvise and compose using both traditional notation tools and modern digital audio workstations.

We are proud of our teachers for sharing their expertise and representing Churchville-Chili at the state level.
