Annual Red Ribbon Week volleyball tournament draws huge student turnout
Each year, students at C-C High School are invited to join in a Red Ribbon Week volleyball tournament to encourage students there are ways to have a good fun while making smart decisions. This year, over 100 students played for the championship.
Throughout Red Ribbon Week, students explore reasons they should say no to drugs and alcohol. Mid-way through the week, the annual tournament provides students with the opportunity to spend time together in a safe environment. Teams are encouraged to create uniforms that tie into Red Ribbon Week and drug prevention.
This year, the team with the uniform that was selected as best uniform displayed drug prevention messages on the back of each teammates shirt.
The winning team for the tournament was Team Drops, which included team captain Lucas Karelus, Melissa Jong, Ava Briggs, Josh Miner, Aaron Reina, Jason Smalls, Amaja Jackson and Nicolas Arena.
Congratulations to our winners and to all of the students who participated in this year's tournament!
