Acting Director of Curriculum, Assessments, and Professional Development appointed

The Churchville-Chili Central School District would like to announce the selection of a new Acting Director of Curriculum, Assessments and Professional Development, Rebecca Tibbitts, who was appointed at the May 26, 2026, Board of Education meeting. Rebecca, who is currently our Middle School Executive Principal, will join current Director of Curriculum, Assessments and Professional Development, John Gonzalez, Jr., in this new role.

Rebecca received her Master of Science in Inclusion from Nazareth College and her Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY Geneseo. She also earned her School Building and District Leadership Certification from Canisius College and completed the New York State Superintendent Development Program this past fall.

Rebecca began her career as an English teacher in the Rochester City School District in 2003. Before joining the team in Churchville-Chili in 2022, she was an Assistant Principal in the Brockport Central School District. Rebecca brings extensive experience as an educational leader, with a strong focus on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), data-driven instructional practices, and leading continuous improvement efforts.

“We would like to thank Becca Tibbitts for her leadership and dedication as Middle School Principal over the past four years,” says Superintendent Peluso. “We are excited to see her expand her impact in this new role, where she will help advance initiatives and systems that support the Office of Instruction and teaching and learning across the district.”

"I am thrilled to take on this district wide role, to support learning at all levels - teacher and staff learning and student learning, which is a passion of mine,” says Rebecca. “Continuous learning and growth will allow us all to better support one another, our students, and the school community."

Rebecca will begin in the Office of Instruction on August 3, 2026.
