The Churchville-Chili Central School District has developed this School Reopening Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and health and safety concerns across our community. With the survey feedback from our families, staff, and advisory committee, we have agreed upon the provision of both in-person and remote learning experiences while maximizing the health and safety of all.
Our administrative team has worked closely with a reopening advisory committee representing staff, parents, Board of Education, and administrators from across the district. The family, student, and staff survey data has been reviewed by the advisory committee and subcommittees have made recommendations for reopening, which is included in our plan. We have partnered with medical professionals from the Monroe County Department of Health and utilized the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We have evaluated and reviewed our current health and safety plans and identified two instructional models for the upcoming school year:
This model requires the use of face coverings on the school bus, in the hallways, in classrooms when there is movement, and when students are less than six feet of social distance. The teacher will provide direction regarding removal of face coverings for instructional purposes, as well as breaks.
Full Remote Model - All instruction will take place remotely adhering to the schedule as provided. Students who select this option will not attend any in-person sessions for a minimum period of ten weeks.
We are prepared to provide meaningful learning experiences and focus on academic, as well as social emotional needs of all our children. Our teachers will continue to provide a high quality academic learning environment, while addressing cultural responsiveness, as well as the health and well-being of our students. This plan includes new procedures and protocols in the areas of operations and maintenance, transportation, and nutritional services with a goal of providing optimum safety for our students and staff.
