Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month: The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869. The majority of the workers who laid the tracks were Chinese immigrants.
National Police Week: Established in 1962, this week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Please be sure to mark your calendars as bussing will be arriving earlier to homes that afternoon. This will NOT impact the UPK classes. They will dismiss as usual at 2 p.m.
