Voters approved the Phase V Project on December 8, 2015.
Construction for the stadium portion of the project began in the late spring of 2017 after the district’s last athletic event. During the summer of 2017, the following construction activities were completed:
- erosion control setup
- full stripping of the field topsoil
- track milling
- excavating field and grading for new subbase
- installation of the field drainage
- installation of the trench drain
- installation of a new waterline
- excavation for track and field event areas
- installation of underground conduits
- installation of the new field and track subbase
During the fall of 2017, contractors continued working and completed the following:
- installation of concrete forms for track events (steeple chase & long jump pits)
- binder coarse paving of the track
- maintenance work at the retention pond
- installation of the event area fence posts
Construction stopped over the winter, as planned, and began again this spring. During this break, the project team was able to test the newly installed drainage system, which performed as designed. The project team also focused on the coordination of all remaining construction items with the prime contractors and associated subcontractors.
The following construction activities occured through the rest of spring and summer od 2018:
- final paving of track
- turf field installation
- resilient athletic track surfacing
- concrete and asphalt walkways
- athletic furnishings
- installation of track fencing
- landscaping
A Grand Opening Ceremony was held at the stadium on September 4, 2018.
