Career Information

Career Internships

Career internships are available for juniors and seniors.  Internships are unpaid, and offer students hands on work experience with a mentor in the community.  They are customized to meet the needs and interests of each student.  Students have been placed in the fields of education, medicine, physical therapy, politics, veterinarian, engineering, broadcasting, entrepreneurship, and more.  Students can earn up to one credit by completing 108 hours in an internship, or ½ credit for 54 hours.  These can be done during the school year, or over the summer.

Procedures to Follow Prior to Placement:
1. Obtain an internship application.  Applications can be obtained from the College and Career Center.
2. Submit your completed application and a resume to Mrs. Martin or Mrs. Maher in the College and Career Center.

For additional information, contact Mrs. Martin at [email protected], or Mrs. Maher at [email protected].

Career Shadowing

The Career Shadowing Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to investigate, observe, and evaluate specific occupations related to career interests.  Students spend a day, or part of a day,  with a Career Shadowing mentor who is currently employed in the occupation the student wishes to research.

Shadowing is coordinated through the College and Career Center.

Procedures to Follow Prior to Placement:

1. Pick up a Shadowing Application from the College and Career Center or on  this  website.
2. Submit your completed application to Mrs. Martin or Mrs. Maher in the College and Career Center.

You will be notified when someone in the community has agreed to be your shadowing mentor.

For additional information contact Mrs. Martin at [email protected] or Mrs. Maher at [email protected].
